Colours mood board

For my music magazine, I am planning to have a predominant colour scheme to create the most appropriate initial emotions that the audience will adapt whilst analysing and reading the magazine.

My intentions for the main colour will be pale green. Whilst acknowledging that my music magazine is based on acoustic music and aimed specifically for both genders, when choosing my colour schemes, I knew that it was important to use a colour that would be appealing for males and females.

Green is a colour that is usually associated with health, spring, money and the environment. I feel that including these colours will create a calming, attractive and motivating feeling whilst acknowledging the professional style and relating this with money and expense. Due to my magazine including subjects including festivals, I feel that green associates with nature and outdoor living which will be visually appealing.

On the front cover, my intentions are to fill in small details such as subheadings, main image borders, date lines and the masthead with extra colours that contrast the pale green such as black, white and silver. I intend on creating an interesting, eye catching and unique effect by outlining the important sections and creating simplicity for the audience to find what they want to view and the page numbers appropriate.

Within the magazine, the contents page and the feature pages will also include such bold colours for the same effect. The sections appropriate for this use will include the main article and any other pieces of useful information being in black and other smaller features with conventional colours such as silver and white. I intend to keep these main three colours throughout the magazine to present unity within the appearance.
